    Thread adapter

Posted by Timothy Yates on Feb 8th 2021

I highly recommend this thread adapter. I had one before and it wasn't even close to being as well made as this one. The flats come in handy, I know they don't look good but this is an AK we are talking about here. Mine bottomed out and tightened up on the tip of the barrel, not the front sight as a typical AK device would. This is most important if you plan on suppressing.

Solid, clean threads, just not deep enough for the full barrel threading.

I used this to adapt my AK threads to the threads on my 30cal muzzle device, and my only complaint is that the female threads are not deep enough to fully seat on the AK threaded barrel. There is about a 1/16" gap between the end if the threads and the end of this adapter. It is definitely useable after adding a key to this part for the barrel pin on the AK (which I knew I had to do before buying this part so this is not a complaint for that piece) but it would look and feel a lot better if the female M14X1 threads were 1/16" deeper. Other than that, love it and from a few steps back, the gap doesn't affect the aesthetic much at all.
